This behaviour just confirms my observation that for most of the time LMKL staff wants to pretend you're not there. Several times the only way to attract waiter's attention in the restaurant was actually to stand up from the table, walk to the waiter and position yourself in front of him/her - hardly an attentive customer service.

My observation was that it varies quite a bit, depending on the person. I have an extensive experience of hotels in Thailand and it is very rare when, for example, someone for the staff does not 'sawadee krub or kaa' you when you walk by. It is not rare at this property, but it was also the case at Le Meridien Phuket. It really depends on the individuals - there are some very good ones and some that are ...... not so good.
