You do realize that a ticket has only 12 months validity started from the date the ticket is issued. So your statement of "travel later" needs to have a time line.
I would say it was after S7 joined OW and the notice about "Flights in Eastern Russia are not valid for All Partner Awards" was added and now apparently removed.
