I really like your trip reports
SFO777, it's always a pleasure reading them! ^ But this time, I can't resist to comment on some points you raised

Well, unfortunately I've to say, the lounge lady was right. LX does not provide limousine/van service to gates other than the E-gates ("Dock midfield") or for apron positions. So no, it was not a crock.

And to be honest, for most gates in ZRH it's really not worth it. Because just to get to the car, you have to take the elevator downstairs, walk through a small hall to the limousine and then being driven all around the main terminal. Well, you're faster with walking, believe me. And it's no problem in ZRH to board at the last minute, for example I usually board 10-15 min before departure (depending on hand luggage).
BTW, LH does the same in MUC. No limousine service beside apron positions. Purely based on the terminal layout.

Well, I think we differ here.

My closest airports are MUC and ZRH and at these airports, there is not much difference between LH and LX regarding ground service. So it's purely based on the aircraft and most of the frequent flyers of LX still like the 343 hard product, for example I still favour it a lot and I really fancy the bed; perfect bedding with the comforter, duvet and down-filled headrest cushion. IMHO still a slight edge better than the newly refurbished A340 of LH. But I assume it's really up to personal taste.
For me, LX vs. LH is always like comparing Park Hyatt with Four Seasons. Both at the high-end level, but Park Hyatt (LX) with a more minimalistic design and Four Seasons (LH) with the more traditional "fittings". That's why I was laughing when I read your comment regarding the "spartan" shower rooms.
Keep up the good work! Enjoy reading it!! ^
