I don't mind waiting, but this is getting ridiculous...
Basically, I had a unused $200 gift certificate that had a zero $ balance when I was ready to use it. Now United is taking their sweet time researching this issue. I mean, all I want is my $200 back. Is it that hard to re-issue a gift certificate?
Early September 2012: received $200 gc
10/07/2012: $200 gc comes up as invalid on united.com
10/08/2012: online refund/cs form submited
11/09/2012: United replies asking for ticket #'s (...?)
11/10/2012: I reply no ticket was ever issued, and this is a GC issue
11/12/2012: United replies "Web Support will be responding to you directly via email at xxx with their findings."
12/21/2012: I send a reply asking for update.
I went by couple of agents at CS counters at different airports in the last month. Both said I need to call the 1-800 #. Then the 1-800 # asked me to email refund dept. I am so lost here, but I would like the $200 back.
