My Schwab Bank ATM and ING DIRECT (sadly now Capital One) cards have a $1000 daily limit. IME most Chase ATMs let you withdraw up to $800 in one transaction (i think that's a physical limitation in terms of how many bills it can dispense at once)--even the standalone ones like in Duane Reade

Also, on every ATM card, you can call the bank and ask them to remove the limit for 24 hours. That exception is exactly for this kind of situation--so you can access your money when you need it

Back on topic... I wonder if you could call the Concierge FROM JAIL if you get yourself detained and have them figure out the legwork so cash shows up where you need it
