We left for home now. Taxi to the airport was 2000 MRU (~50 EUR) and took approx. 1:15h. The airport is painless and well staffed. No need for long pre-departure time.

But btw: The property hosted an event for all SPG Gold and Plat members. It included opening bottles of Champagne with a sabre :-) We missed it but I suppose it was a lot of fun...
We also left by now. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay.
We had a rental car, the drive to the airport was around 1h 5mins. Plan some extra time since there are no signs where to return the car to (you actually just park anywhere and enter into the "arrivals" restricted passenger entrance until you reach the rental booth where you originally rented the car). Don;t forget to fill up the car, they kind of expect it from you. We were tight in time and did not find the filling station near the airport, so I just gave the rental car agent MUR 2200 and he took care of it.
By the way: Wifey and I attended the Champagne sabling event (they invited SPG Platinums and Golds, and they want to make this event a Thursday night institution, they said). The manager talked to all guests (~15 present) and picked up on improvement opportunities. For all guests who are not Gold/Platinum, there is a regular Champagne sabeling on Friday nights (but I suppose it costs big $$$s).
