Just tried to book an AXON7 award at the Sydney Hilton for March 23-27, 2013. I didn't think it would be available because I already checked online, but thought the telephone agent might pull up something. Nope. The only award available for that period is a whopping 136,007 points PER NIGHT! Are they kidding? I know Australia is expensive, but it looks like they're trying to do everything to keep us from using our hard-earned points there. As for the cash price, their Standard Rates begin at AU $468!
Why would anyone pay these prices when they could get the Four Seasons, Sheraton, or Marriot for much less? What am I missing?
Unfortunately, I don't have much flexibility, because DH and I will be flying down to Auckland on 3/27 to board a cruise ship.
