1. probably safe to get in writing that you met the T&Cs so they don't try to dupe you later. and most people have said that they need to be contacted to get your miles at all. it takes less time to contact them than it took you to write your post. not sure why you wouldn't just contact them IMO.

2. they usually wait a few months to start charging service fees on new accounts
