For the upgrade to Surpass offer via email yesterday. Anyone know if first year Gold status is 12 calendar months or the rest of the current "Hilton" year plus the next?

I have Gold status until March 2013. If I wait to activate until April (either hoping for another offer or applying by the expiration date of Jan 31st but holding the card) would I get Gold until 2015? Or just April 2014 (12 months)?
