If you're considering Zeiss glass, you may want to take a look at the new Sigma 35mm f/1.4. It will be more like a 52 on a crop-frame sensor (and there's already the 30mm/1.4 for APS-C bodies), but this new lens is amazing - it's glued to my D700 right now.
If you can find one in stock, it's worth checking out. It's already getting many positive reviews.
