Will there be passport control in MUC but no need to collect bags? I've been told that once in MUC we'll feel as if we are walking to Budapest.

I booked nice, comfy, cozy economy seating. I'm just a sliver UA flyer with hopes of being someone cool someday.

One more question:
Other travel boards recommend no checked luggage....While I'm sure I can pack that light and bring all I need on a carry-on, I don't think I want to. We'll be visiting family in Hungary and Germany and want to bring gifts for everyone. We'll do the same for family here in the States on our return. Is it really a big deal to check a bag?
