Time stands still in AA land and nobody else has any plans of expansion or buying new aircraft. But, we will be great in 5 years!
The BA acquisition of BD actually leaves AA/BA stronger than a year ago -- VS/DL will definitely help DL on the corporate side -- particularly by adding LAX-LHR. DL pretty obviously wants to break AA's grip on JFK-LAX and having VS serving LAX-LHR will help. But in this case the loser is UA/*A - with both DL/AF/KL/VS and BA/AA gaining IMO.
