On the other hand, I TRIED to use my Virgin America Barclay Visa card at CVS. Barclays made CVS call them for an approval code. Then Barclays called me over to the CVS phone and gave me hell, asking for my full name, mother's maiden name, DL number, SSN, name of first born child, etc. Then back to the CVS cashier, at which point the manager stepped in, and listened in as the whole line of shoppers watched us. Barclays asked the cashier to look at my picture and asked if it really looked like me, asked for her to compare my handwriting, etc. This went on for 10 minutes and finally Barclays gave the cashier an approval code - which - get this - did NOT work! So I substituted my Hilton Amex card and got an immediate approval. I am not joking about any of this (except the first born child). The manager at CVS was very unhappy and glared at me like I was a criminal. Never will I use a Barclays card again for a VR card purchase!
Wow, what a mess. Barclays is always such a cluster-%#$! Not long ago I received a fraud alert call on my USAirways MC - they really were fraudulent charges in this case. Only it took several follow-up calls and emails before they finally were all removed.

I've not had any problems with Chase or with Citi HHonors cards and VRs. The only issue I have repeatedly with Chase, is fraud alerts and/or blocks whenever I make a British Airways purchase with my British Airways Chase Visa card!
