Citi froze mine one time. Even after clearing it with a rep in Manila, the robot call still kept coming. The robot calls also were not very hard to listen to and the message was garbled and cut short. Called the human dept 2nd time and was told card was already cleared hours ago. Not good enough. Fraud alert email still came and the reference number to call back remained active. So I gave up, just followed the steps in the email and finished the robot process. Then the card was finally working again. Talk about a retarded system. Good thing I only needed 2 beans to put on that Citi card.
Someone posted several pages ago he had similar issue with Citi.
My experience was opposite. On my first bean purchase with a Citi card, I received a fraud alert text. And confirmed the transaction by replying YES to the text. It's been good after that, no call. Chase on the other hand, I had to keep calling in total of 5 times before the alerts stop.
