I know many people (including the family members that we travel with) that aren't as "picky" as me and love AI vacations. If you are looking to be off-duty, an AI can provide that. It is just my personality that I rather work a little harder on vacation (going to the grocery store, packing a cooler, etc) to relax in a different way.
thank you for clarifying what you didn't like. We will be traveling off season, so some issues you mention might not be issues for us, plus I think my expectations are different. Years ago I did a week at Club Med Ixtapa and
for that trip it was perfect for me. Most trips we do totally independently, but the next trip is one to just veg and play.
