Interesting question, do they scrutinize the date? I think though that the ones expiring in 2012 are printed in red, while the ones in 2013 are printed in blue. So if they also get stuck with the tab if they collect the wrong coupons, then I guess they would be strict and it will be easy with the color difference. But I have no idea.
