That would seem to defeat the whole purpose as AA did it to replace the heavy flight bags containing the aircraft manuals and the approach plates. I guess on Corsair they can't have emergencies below 10,000 feet and they always fly VFR.
It's just that iPad's are considered as EFB Class 1 by DGAC, so they must comply with EFB Class 1 use rules.
Now that AF is giving iPad's to its pilots, they might have the power to make the DGAC change this rule.
