The best way I found so far to position is to have nested itineraries from west/east coast
with fares around $800 that's not a bad option but that would be a brutal adventure even if one can easily apply SWU on westbound legs. If AA extends AATHX then I will seriously consider such an MR with approx 64K EQMs + 64K rdms for about $1.5K rt if flying from left coast.
20K awards are possible but you still would need to come back to US I suppose so that makes it 40K and in WHY.
