U go, Vlad! I have friends in Montreal, where Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend causes hotels to raise their rates from the normal $150--200 to $500 buxanite.
I just checked radisson.com. The normal rate in Oct. is AED 699 (US$190) per night, but AED 3500 (US$953) for Nov. 2--4 for Formula 1! Before +10% service charge + 6% tax are added!
Also, normally the res. may be cancelled until 6PM day of arrival without penalty, but during F1, all ressies are non-refundable as of now! Award: Lose 1 night's Gold Points! Money-paid: Lose all your cash for the whole stay!
