Were they expecting Heston to do this for them at the same time he was doing the food? Does sound a bit odd, never trying their product at point of consumption. Everyone knows that things taste different in the air..except it seems the people who make the products for the airlines?! Very strange.
My personal guess is that their product doesn't take good at all on the ground either but that as they were flying with BA execs and were red-faced with embarrassment at commenting the taste of the stuff while facing their client, they went for the good old excuse that they didn't realise it would taste so vile in the air in order to get a second chance that they probably do not deserve and which will quite possibly result in similarly poor results.
