Thank you all for the replies. Travelocity called me back twice yesterday (last time was at 11pm) to tell me they wanted to go from $40 to $100 dollars off if I book with them. I am going to book my hotel via the Hilton website as you all pointed out that it is the best way to go point wise elite status wise.

I've stayed at this property twice before once when my toddler was six months old and the other time when he was 1.5 years old. The breakfast isn't anything special for Gold's (continental) but you get to have it on the deck over looking the ocean. When I called the hotel directly they said they would not waive the resort fee as they have now gotten all new beach chaise loungers and a brand new children's play area.
