Twin lap infants in biz on UA 744
Hi all -
I'm flying (back) LHR-SFO in January in business class with my wife and two lap infants on a 747-400. The question is whether there are two seats where we can sit next to each other with two lap infants.
United seem to be under the impression that this is not possible without an empty seat between us, because they believe that airplanes are constructed with "one extra" oxygen mask per sections of seats.
I am under the impression - having flown with these kids several times, including internationally and on 744s - that Boeing puts in 4 oxygen masks per row ***all the way*** along the sides of the plane. So if sitting in economy in a 3-4-3 configuration, you're allowed one lap child per section. And if United decides to arbitrarily start business class at row 19 or row 9 or row 29, then all the oxygen masks are there.
So three questions.
First, does anyone know if I'm actually correct?
Second, does anyone know what the O2 mask arrangement is on the top deck?
and Third, what are the seats we can get nearest to each other where we can each sit with an infant in our lap?
Thanks!
J
