When in doubt of conflicting responses from anonymous sources on the web, an official answer can always be found with a quick call back to AMEX. FWIW I've had bonus MQMs post on my January statement many times, always backdated to an activity date of 12/31 the previous year. The one time that didn't happen, a quick call to AMEX got it fixed right away.
