Hint #1 does not seem to apply to me. One time I had the exit row window and the seat in front of me did not recline. Had some 10 YO or so throwing a fit he couldn't recline like his mommy as little sister. I've also had some 7 YO recline, I think they follow their parents example

As to hint #2, is that pre or post devolve planes?
