I agree with gemac about the extremely high quality of the information to be found here once you weed out the tons of crap. To which, admittedly, I have contributed more of the latter than the former. I have made a New Year's resolution to reform.
The Flyertalk search function was very poor several years ago, and it earned a justifiable poor reputation with members at that time. It is much better now, and I use it exclusively. Using it, I am almost always able to find the information that others claim that they have searched diligently for to no avail. As a rule, I am looking at that information within sixty seconds of deciding to search for it. Search becomes easier as you get practice, but of course you have to actually do the practice to get better. I suspect that most people search, get 5 pages of results, and decide not to spend their time looking through that (although when you have practiced, you can easily hone in on what you are looking for).
