They might not waive this if you book via travelocity. It definitely won't be waived if you book via travelocity with a prepaid rate (not sure what kind of rate you are looking at). Then your $100 savings with travelocity goes away and you miss out on getting the points.
Using the HH surpass and having diamond status, you'll earn enough at least 39,500 points = a free night with this kind of spend! ($1200 on room = 14,000 on surpass + 12000 base + 6000 diamond bonus + 6000 double dip on points + 1000 diamond benefit + 500 online booking bonus + TBD points with the Q1 promotional bonus)
Good point...if you book through Travelocity, they won't view you quite the same elite-wise.
Also applies to their process of assigning room upgrades, which they'd likely complete earlier in the day. Even if you showed up with the Diamond card in hand and got them to acknowledge the benefits of status, the room upgrade you might have gotten could already be assigned to someone else.
On my stay there - long ago, also booked via third-party - they did honor the breakfast part of the Gold benefits at the time. (This was both early in the Priceline years and in an era when Gold was a bit better, so don't expect it to apply to today's experience.) I recall the people at the hotel being friendly but the property itself being very bare-bones, almost Holiday Inn-ish. That's why I suggest shopping around for better options for a January stay... If I'm wrong and everything else is in the same price range, then book this hotel directly and I'm guessing they'll take decent care of you.
