In SYD even if the Check in girl adds a tag it gets ripped of by the baggage team and sorted according to the electronic tag (Y). She even showed me the screen which stated baagage = Y, and put a FC tag on. When I got the bag with the economy bags there was no tag.
Out of HKG its fine by the way on QF.
QF has also happily (and carefully) ripped my (CX and generic OneWorld) priority tags off many times while transit in SYD/MEL.
