I have had this fight with similar things....


the points are awarded to the person who made and paid the reservation.

A slightly different situation...say you and your brother decided to go on a weekend to gether to some city. You are both marriott members. One meade the reservation but you split the bills. The points will get awardered tot he person who made the reservation...but if you can show you paid for the stay that equates to one night you can still get the night credits for promotion purposes.
