Best way to combine two household accounts

Hi!

I've got a maybe slightly less common issue. A friend of mine is no longer using his BA Avios as he moved to Germany and now uses Miles & More. He now wants to basically transfer all his Avios to my account as a Christmas gift And I am looking for a way to get around the transfer fee.

As he no longer uses his and his wife's accounts (one combined household account) anyway, the question now becomes what is the best way to combine both mine and his household accounts to one.

I assume BA has no option to combine two household accounts, but he could obviously dissolve his household accounts and then add the resulting regular Avios accounts to my household account once he changed the address to mine - would that work? And if so, does anyone know if there is some sort of 'block period' in which you can't add an account that formally was part of a different household account to another household account?

Maybe BA has some sort of limitation in place that you need to wait 3 months after dissolving a household account until you can add the former household account members to another household account or so to make sure that everyone pays the transfer fee (which I find ridiculous as the miles were collected and therefore paid for with ticket prices already, why would I pay twice for them).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Alex
