The new Premier Lounge does let you in if you have a MasterCard platinum or higher (I don't know if it is limited to cards issued in GCC) so for me it's not an issue.
QR has now gotten itself back on track with an agreement with the abovementioned lounge. I don't know about Silver access, but Gold is at least sufficient. Perfectly acceptable lounge, albeit a bit crowded at times.
