Congrats AC, you have successfully turned away a loyal customers (200k BIS miles this year and probably 40k in revenue, plus all the staff i influence at in ticket choice at our company).

The pain is felt for those buying business class fare too. AC's discount Exeuctive Fare is significantly more expensive than its competitors to many Asian destinations.
I have difficulties in justifying paying $600~700 more to fly AC instead of CX from YYZ to HKG in business class, or >$1,000 more than some other airlines with an intermediary connection stop.
Great for AC if it is able to find travellers to pay that hefty premium.
