There is no excuse whatsoever for not being able to get in touch with an airline rep who would take a report or answer questions.

This topic is 2 years old and it's one years since LH Italia had been shut down. So had been the Cassa per il Mezzogiorno many years ago, I had this year on FCO the handle of my checked bag cut off completely (I have no idea how they did this), on the return, I sealed it in a plastic wrap, just to make sure that all goes smooth the way out, in that part of Europe you have to adjust and be a bid more patient, as they all are down there
