A subjective assessment that arose because the airline reps wanted to have it arise. Even the German governmental rep is unlikely to know what the Swiss consular officials may have been informed and wanted in circumstances such as this.

If only that were the case, but you think incorrectly. I do intra-Schengen travel many times each month (even multiple times a week most weeks of the year) and non-Schengen to Schengen travel a few times a month.

The German reps in India messing things up in situations like this for non-German consular officials from other Schengen countries is nothing new and a product of imperious Germany and bureaucratic types overseas living up to that notorious reputation. There is no indication that the Swiss necessarily wanted the visa revoked/invalidated. It is even doubtful that German passport control at FRA or MUC would have even reached the same conclusion as the German rep in India relyin upon just the airline's representations.
