Well said... it's quite clear that the circumstances when applying for the visa and using the visa we different. And then it's simply a subjective assessment if they will allow you to travel. Someone else could have just as easy made another ruling, it's even likely that they would have done. But that's not what has happened.
The lesson should be to be truthful to your application or otherwise risk problems. But it's quite clear that's not what the OP want's to hear or is willing to accept.... it's a lot easier to not see your own responsibility but shift the blame to someone else, even with some bogus argument about the flight being overbooked...
