Thank you for the info. just to clarify, did you also call Citi Bank to change linked Hilton Account or you only contact Hilton? If you only contact Hilton and use the merge function, will you still miss the point when citi Bank credit the point to the new account Citi Bank generated? Thanks.

Had the same issue before. Had no idea Citi created a new HH account and posted points to the new account. I waited for some time, didn't see the bonus points so made a call to Diamond desk to get things sorted out. Basically they tracked down what happened and "merged" the two accounts.
