That had me a little confused, you have your terminals mixed - AA use T8 and CX use T7.
i.e. you would be arriving from DCA into T8 and departing to HKG from T7.
Other than that your plan seems fine - to save time make sure you get a 'clockwise' train from T8 to get to T7.
