SYD-DFW (and DFW-BNE) are critical for the longest range aircraft. These must have the ERs. The other routes are shorter but there seems a preference for using the ER on SYD-SCL. Everything else has been happily operating with "standard" 744s for a decade before the ERs arrived on the scene. Therefore the "standard" 744 should not be eliminated from expectations of a particular type of aircraft unless DFW is your place.
