19. I believe the only full service carrier serving Lafayette, Louisiana (LFT) back then was Texas International Airlines (TI) which had recently changed its name from Trans-Texas Airways (TT) a.k.a. TTa. Now, as for the TI equipment, I was tempted to say the Douglas DC-9-10. However, at this particular time, I don't believe the DC-9 was being operated into LFT and that all service (primarily to Houston and New Orleans) was actually being operated with Convair 600 turboprops.

BTW, after TI was merged into Continental, CO continued to operate mainline jet service into LFT, although there was a hiatus with regard to this service for awhile (CO pulled their mainline equipment out of the LFT-IAH market at one point which was then replaced with COEx ATR-42 and EMB-120 turboprop service. CO then resumed mainline jet service on the route although most flights continued to be operated by COEx t-props, primarily with ATR-42-300 and ATR-42-500 equipment).

So here's a quick bonus question: Identify the six (6) different mainline jet aircraft types operated over the years by Continental into LFT by their OAG equipment codes.

This brings us the other part of the question concerning Lafayette, Indiana (LAF). I believe the full service carrier was Allegheny Airlines (AL) operating Convair 580 turboprops. BTW, I also believe in later years that AL operated BAC One-Eleven service on a LAF-PIT routing.

And here's a question which is not a quiz item as, quite frankly, I do not know the answer! Allegheny had separate names for two of the turboprop aircraft types they operated: the Vistaliner and the Vistacruiser (AL called their DC-9s Vistajets as previously discussed). So what type of equipment were these Vistacruisers and Vistaliners flown by AL?
