I've never understood the locations where Hertz is so much more money than some of the other rental companies, but there have been more than a few times I've been walking through when I rent with somebody else because it's a third the cost, and see the "No Vehicles Available" sign on the Hertz counter, so it works for them.
A lot of companies have negotiated rates that are set, so if Hertz is charging $100 a day, many of the corporate renters could be paying $50 a day. My company has these rates with National, so I know I can get a full size for $40 a day regardless of what rate they are charging.
