For me, the Airbus seats are generally nicer, but the best seat I've had in Y was on a CO 767, 2-3-2, biz first bird (no F). Seemed to be a pretty new plane, with seat cushions that actually cushioned. If the 757s flying TATL are using those seats, I'd have no complaints. OK, maybe one. Lav access is probably worse than a two-aisle plane. Are the Y lavs at just one or both ends?
The 2-class 763/764, while more comfortable on your behind than the 2-cabin 757 and 777, are definitely harder than the ones found on the 3-class birds. I've traveled them enough by now to say that with confidence.
In terms of economy padding comfort, personally:
Airbus/IPTE 763 > IPTE 777 > IPTE 747 > 2-cabin 763/764 > 2-cabin 777 > 787 > 757 > 737.
The 744 has narrow seats, but at least has comfortable padding. By comparison, the 2-class 757s have that same narrow width mixed in with a thinner seat bottom, and one aisle. AVOD and power ports are nice, but there isn't a free lunch here. The J seats are also of tight length, and of course, no F. They are not my preferred intl aircraft, especially if I am going to Heathrow, where there's an abundance of better options.
