Yesterday, I discovered the Citi Honors card which will save me just about its first year cost (most likely) in internet charges if I get to be gold in time. After all, it's a European hotel which likely means about E25 a day for internet.
I was accepted for the card virtually instantly online, but my Hhonors status hasn't changed so far (nor have I gotten the card despite my local Citi representative saying he would expedite it).
Is there any way to hasten the status upgrade? I don't have either the card or my account number yet.
Citibank phone agents seem unable to understand the situation, let alone help.
I presume you have the Visa Reserve card since you will have Gold status?
Don't worry about the bump, should happen by time you arrive at Conrad. I find the system works quite quickly.
You can always call HHonors and ask them to manually change status. Also, send an e-mail to Conrad GM and indicate your status has changed to Gold and you would like to confirm on-site benefits
