16. You’re in Memphis and you’ve been asked to join some friends in Missoula for the opening of their new restaurant. Consulting your trusty OAG, you’re surprised to find a direct flight between Memphis and Missoula. There’s only one problem. The schedule indicates that the flight departs Memphis at 1115a and arrives in Missoula at 11:13p. Whaaaat?! Further, where it normally shows the number of enroute stops is a hash mark (#). A call to the airline verifies that the times are correct and that this flight makes 14 stops along the way. Identify the airline, the equipment and at least twelve of the enroute stops.

And now for my wild guess with regard to the routing: Memphis-Little Rock-Hot Springs-Fort Smith-Tulsa-Oklahoma City-Liberal-Denver-Cheyenne-Laramie-Casper-Worland-Cody-Billings-Bozeman-Missoula.

And that's a long time to spend on board a venerable Convair 580!
Good job, Mr. Lemon! Frontier it is with a comfortable and spacious Convair 580. I logged many a flight aboard 580s from Frontier and Aspen while flying around Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Frontier liked to call its 580s "Mountain Masters" but the multi-stop flights, lower flight altitudes and occasional turbulence had more than a few passengers referring to them as "Vomit Comets". The modern turboprops serving many of these towns today may be more fuel efficient, but nowhere near as comfortable.

As to the enroute stops, you correctly identified twelve of them, in correct order no less. ^^ Hot Springs and Cody were not in the routing but one of Merle Haggard's favorite towns was. The other town is tucked in between Wyoming's Owl Creek and the Wind River Mountains.
