Fares basis codes ending with 5 are published in the GDS.
Fares basis codes ending with 7 are eligible for free standby on an earlier flight.
Fares basis codes ending with 8 are eligible for free standby on an earlier flight.
Fares basis codes ending with 9 are eligible for free standby on an earlier flight.
Looks like this is how AA is going to execute on its "Direct Connect" strategy. I doubt we'll see fares ending in 7,8,9 being sold by any other outlet for awhile (I think AA has signed up only one partner to its proprietary API).

For what its worth, I like the new direction.
