After playing around with the new system it is definitely an improvement from the last version but still pretty bad.

For instance, when you look at the weekly calendar the initial assumption is that the grey shading means no availability. WRONG! You still have to select each individual day to see if there is availability as the default shading for each day is grey and there may actually be availability when you assume there isn’t.

A real improvement would be to show the weekly calendar and to show blue on each day where there is availability and grey where there is no availability.

Another improvement would be to show availability on all classes and not just the class you are looking for. I have always found Qantas’s reward redemption tool the easiest and most logical to use to find flight availability. BA should take a page from their book in that respect.
