AA doesn't have a heavy presence, but AS does, which can and does feed the BA flight. There is plenty of demand even beyond the city of Seattle, and there is plenty of traffic connecting in LHR to points beyond.
Before the recession, BA was doing daily doubles in the peak season, supplementing the 747 with a 777. Based on my 4-5 round trips on BA, I have seen quite healthy loads. Though, if DL/VS made a go of it, BA might downguage to a 777, which would be a shame, as BA currently is the only 747 service from SEA currently...that is until DL ups NRT to a 744 for peak season.
