I was thinking the same thing. I have small children and would have never booked that holiday with that itinerary. Way more chances for things to go wrong, and that is one long difficult day for young kids.
For millenia kids have travelled by horse-pulled wagon (at best), and now one stop too many in air travel is unacceptable? Maybe your standards are just too high.
