The trick is to get it on the ground as soon as there is some. Forget about demanding real tarmac.

As for take off - back it up righttttt to the fence. And start pulling back to get the thing in the air as soon as you're at 10 knots.

Maybe it was a blessing for us all that I didn't apply for the BA Future Pilot Programme!
