# of C seats isn't really the right comparison - it's the density, and NH alternates between 1-1-1 and 1-2-1. So IMO that would automatically make for a less claustrophobic feeling than 2-2-2.
Just was on a 763 3-class recently, which features 2-2-2- in business and 7 across in coach. This made me wonder how cramped the 9-seat Y rows on the 787 would be, given the fact that the C (6 across) is the same in both the 763 and the 787.
