Well, the CityJet thing was more or less an off-the-cuff remark - given their early Virgin experience (though the WX/VS relationship quickly soured, and split up acrimoniously) - and I wouldn't expect them to somehow staff an A320 (a type, as you say, that they don't have). Between CityJet not having a presence at LHR, and with their planes being relatively small and slots at LHR being at a premium, it would never seriously have been a consideration to use them as the mainstay of providing a Virgin virtual shorthaul network.
