Sometimes amnesty periods for fines may be in place. From simple things like overdue library books, to parking tickets and finally speeding tickets. Even ogres like the IRS have been known to accept payment of the tax due and waive the penalties.
She should watch the local newspapers (she's waiting this ling...she can wait a little longer) and see if any amnesty programs kick in periodically.
I hear about things like that for parking tickets and library books from time to time, but speeding tickets are usually misdemeanors (which makes them minor criminal offenses), aren't they? I've never heard of places that offer bulk amnesty/discounts for that sort of thing.
Wouldn't that be like offering discounted rate programs for paying off fines associated with trespassing, simple assault, etc.?
